Organization: Women’s Environmental Justice Policy Center (WEJ) – a fiscally sponsored project of Mockingbird Incubator

Location: Remote (United States Only)

Type: Part-time, educational internship

Compensation: Unpaid; must be connected to academic credit or a formal school-sponsored program

Schedule: 10–15 hours per week for approximately 10–12 weeks during an academic term. The schedule is asynchronous and flexible outside of weekly team meetings.



This internship is designed as a learning experience in nonprofit communications and tailored content creation. The Social Media Intern will receive training and close supervision in content creation, basic graphic design, and social media strategy in the context of gender, climate, and environmental justice. The intern will support WEJ’s public education work by developing graphics, topics for campaigns, and media strategy, with supervision from WEJ leadership.

    • Why you are interested in gender, climate, or environmental justice; and

    • What you hope to learn from a social media internship with WEJ.

  • 1–3 examples of any content you have created (social posts, graphics, campus flyers, class projects, etc.)
